organization. She also was on the national board of CPAs. As Cynthia said, she was the bean counter of the bean counters. After marriage to Jay Horberg and raising two children, she returned to the workplace as Comptroller of Kosher Meats; she was the first female officer of that company; she was also the comptroller at Sara Lee. Jane was one of the founders of the Lincoln Park Nursery School and was its treasurer. She took up tennis in her adult life and was treasurer at the Lincoln Park Tennis Club. Jane was a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago where she volunteered as a docent after retirement. Upon returning to North Muskegon, she joined Community Methodist Church. Jane purchased and resided in her parent's former home on Muskegon Lake. Janie Marquard is remembered by all as being friendly and had a great sense of humor. She loved University of Michigan sports, HGTV and PBS programming. She was into arts and crafts furniture and made several trips to national conventions in Asheville, North Carolina. Her home is beautifully adorned with this furniture. She was very loyal to her family and was proud of her family with the Dake and Marquard clans. She hosted several family events in her home. Memorial services will be held Friday, October 13, 2023, at the Community Methodist Church 1614 Ruddiman Drive, North Muskegon, MI at 11 am. Visitation will be held one hour before that at 10 am. Attendees at the service will be invited to have lunch with the family followed by a service of internment at Laketon Township Cemetery, 2735 W. Giles Rd., Muskegon, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in remembrance of Jane E. Marquard may be given to Community Methodist Church, 1614 Ruddiman Drive, North Muskegon, MI 49445.
