EAST BRUNSWICK - THERESA L. CONTE passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 68 years old. Born in Providence, Rhode Island to Raymond and Lillian (née Parenteau) Hardiman, she grew up in Warwick Rhode Island until attending college. She met the love of her life, Edward, and together they lived in Boston, MA; Providence, RI; Queens, and Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY, before making East Brunswick their home in 1984. A graduate of Sargent College at Boston University, Theresa dedicated her life to the betterment of others. Through the years she worked in hospital and private practice settings. Her first job after college was at a hospital in Rhode Island where in February of 1978 she was forced to stay at the hospital for two weeks after a blizzard shut down the state. Upon moving to New York, she worked on Staten Island eventually becoming head of rehabilitation at Seaview Hospital. Theresa is reunited with her sister, Kathleen Hardiman and her parents, Raymond and Lillian. Surviving is her husband of 45 years, Edward, of East Brunswick; her two sons, Christopher and his wife, Lara Haddad, of Los Angeles, CA, and Andrew and his wife, Gabriela Fernandes, of Somerville; her two sisters, Margaret Simms and her husband, George, of East Greenwich, Rhode Island, Joyce Thiel and her husband, Albert, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; her brother, Raymond Hardiman and his wife, Rebecca, of Aurora, Oregon; and her three grandchildren, Alberto, Nayla, and Rio. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, at The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, where a service will be held at 4:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 9:15 am, at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bartholomew's Roman Catholic Church, East Brunswick.
