Danny Lee DesJarlais

Danny Lee DesJarlais, age 69, of Elcho, died on June 19, 2024 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital. He was born on January 7, 1955 in Antigo, a son of the late Lester DesJarlais and Mary Froland. He married Maxine Sparks on June 12, 1982 at St. John Catholic Church in Pelican Lake. He was a graduate of Elcho High School. Danny was employed as a Water and Waste Water Treatment Technologist for Infrastructure Alternative, Inc. He was also a butcher at the Northtrail Store in Elcho for many years. He enjoyed fishing, archery, shooting guns with his son and grandchildren, and photography. In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Steven (Amanda) DesJarlais of Deerbrook; a daughter, Erin DesJarlais of Antigo; four grandchildren, Alexus, Keagan, and Logan DesJarlais, and Matthew Sprague; two brothers, Myron (Christine) Des Jarlais of Utah and Byron (Jill) Des Jarlais of Crystal Falls, MI; four sisters-in-law, Frances (Baker) Branson of Elcho, Susan King of Rhinelander, Althea Adkins of Pelican Lake, and Angela (Jeffrey) Roberts of Summit Lake; a sister-in-law, Christine Awonohopay; and two brothers-in-law, Wayne Sparks of Pelican Lake and Michael (Marianne) Sparks of Elc...[more]

He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Amanda Sparks, Ben Des Jarlais, Luke (Suzy) Sparks, Michelle (Preston) Lee, Wiley Allard, Jake Allard, Samantha (Jason) Herrmann, Raistlin (Dana), Donovin, Naethin, Kamerin, and Ethin Awonohopay. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Eldon DesJarlais; half-brother, Eric Awonohopay; and brothers-in-law, Patrick Sparks and Wayne King. A memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, June 27, at 1:30 p.m. at St. John Catholic Church in Pelican Lake with the Very Reverend Christopher Kemp officiating. Burial will take place in Elcho Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. am at the church.
