Kent Louis DeGrant After a long illness, Kent passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at his home in Elcho under the care of his partner, Donna Boomer. Kent was born October 17, 1954 in Milwaukee to Louis and Carol (Puhle) DeGrant. Kent's life was one of constant movement. He attended Romeo High School in Romeo, MI. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Kent was a talented mechanic and served as a helicopter crew chief while stationed at Camp Pendleton in California and Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. After his time in the service he began a career as a long-haul truck driver. Kent was an amazing and creative cook. He took a brief hiatus from driving when he was the chef at DeGrant's Lake Metonga Supper Club in Crandon. Eventually the call of the open road lured him back, and he worked for Karl's Transport, Antigo, until his retirement. Throughout his life Kent was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the enveloping peace of the forest. sister, Kelly (Keith) Monroe of Kewaunee; grandchildren, Jeniffer, Abby, Emma, Anthony, Kason, Macy, and Zion; great-grandchildren and beloved nieces and nephews; Ben, Justin, Alex, Paige, and Molly; and great nieces and nephews. Kent was also held dear by Donna's children, Derek, Andrew, and Ryan and will be missed by his dear friends, Dave Brandow and Marty Reynolds. Kent was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Luanne Wolfe. At Kent's request, there will be no services. "Forever in Blue Jeans"
