Gerald L. Weix, of Antigo, died on August 2, 2024 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was 97 years old. He was born on May 7, 1927 in Antigo, a son of the late Louis and Mayme (Schoepke) Weix. He married Mary Seis on August 25, 1951 at St. John Catholic Church in Antigo. He was a graduate of Antigo High School, class of 1945. Jerry served in the United States Army from August of 1945 to January of 1947, he was stationed in Germany. Jerry was a Forester for the Langlade County Forestry Department for 31 years, having retired in 1988. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, the Msgr Conrad Saile Knights of Columbus Council 1002, Sparks-Doernenburg American Legion Post 3, and the Leland Tollefson Veterans of Foreign War Post 2653, all in Antigo He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He had the opportunity to travel all over the world. Later in life his greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren and sharing his outdoor knowledge with them. e Grove, MN, Samatha (Eric ) Stelter of Colfax, Sean (Kyra) Andraschko of Kronenwetter, and Allan Andraschko of Kronenwetter; four great-grandchildren, Lillian Henning, Leo Stelter, Jax Stelter, and Allison Andraschko; and his twin sister, June Below of Antigo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Zarzycki and Dorothy Gelow. A memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, August 8, at 11 a.m. at St John Catholic Church in Antigo with the Very Rev. Joel Sember and Rev. Charles Hoffman concelebrating. Entombment and Military Honors will take place at the Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the church in Hoffmann Hall from 9:30 to 11 a.m. beginning with the Rosary led by the Knights of Columbus.
