Sybil Ann Balatti, affectionately known as "Ban", was surrounded by loved ones when she passed away on August 12, 2024, at home in Los Banos, California. Sybil Ann was born to Thomas and Sybil Kaljian on February 9, 1924. She attended Los Banos schools through high school, where she was a tennis star. After graduation she was off to Mills College in Oakland, California. After World War II broke out, she returned to Los Banos to work at Eagle Field handing out uniforms and soon married her high school sweetheart Guido "Chick" Balatti. She taught first grade in Los Banos after Guido joined the Navy and was shipped out. She wouldn't see him again for 2 years. After the war ended, Sybil and Guido built a small home and started a family. They had 4 children: Thomas, Douglas, Cynthia, and Nancy. It was a happy, but hectic household for the family. Even so, they took in one more when in 1964 they hosted an exchange student from Holland for a year. Dolf quickly became another son to her and part of the family. World Famous cookies, and her love of finding a good bargain. She treasured her friends and family, and made her home welcoming to everyone. Sybil is preceded in death by her dear husband, Guido. She is survived by her 4 children, and her in-laws: James (Cynthia) , Laurie (Thomas) , and Steven (Nancy). She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren: Spencer, Brooke, Austin, Preston, Anna, Taylor, Noel, Sybil, and Lauren, as well as her great-grandchildren: Siena, Elliana, Kaliyanei, Grant, Maya, Kylan, Peyton, Reed, Emberlynn, Noah, Elijah, Ethan, Jase, Amelia, and Emma. Each one contributed to her rich and comfortable life. She knew and appreciated the talents of every one of them and they were the center of her world.
