James Joseph Van Alstine, age 82, of White Lake, died on September 15, 2024 at his home. He was born in that same home on October 23, 1941, a son of the late Delbert and Clara (Antoniewicz) Van Alstine. He married Joyce Schroeder on October 2, 1965 at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo. He was a graduate of White Lake High School, class of 1959. James served in the National Guard Langlade County Unit from 1963 to 1969. James moved to Milwaukee for a few years, returning to Langlade County in 1968. He started his career with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in 1969. He was a Forestry Technician, having retired in 1996. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and trapping, and was able to share his enthusiasm with his children, grandchildren, and family friends, Mark, Tom, and Don. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas Van Alstine and Delbert Van Alstine; sisters, Delphine Hendricks and Lorraine Van Alstine; sisters-in-law, Mavis and Natalie Van Alstine; and a brother-in-law, James Hendricks A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 20 at 6 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Langlade Cemetery in the town of Wolf River The family extends a special thank you to his Godson, Mark, and his wife Nancy; friend, Tom; and sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Mike Klimoski for their help and friendship over the years.
