Krisha Barrett

Krisha Barrett, 72, passed away in the comfort of home with her loving family by her side. A family prayer service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, (414 Lincoln Way, Ames, Iowa 50010) with a public visitation held from 4:30 until 6:00 p.m. with a time of fellowship to follow at the Parlor. Memorials may be made to the Boone Humane Society and Ames Animal Shelter. Krisha was born in Boone, Iowa to Laurie and Letty (Johnson) Miles on June 23, 1952. Krisha attended Boone High School and graduated with the class of 1971. After high school, Krisha started working for McFarland Clinic in the Medical Records Department and after 35 years of faithful service in medical billing she retired. During that time, she lived in Ames after marrying Steve Barrett and from this union two daughters, Jenny and Jessie, were born. The two would later divorce but remained present in each other's lives. Krisha was a caring and hardworking mother that was very close to her two daughters. go to for advice. In her free time, she enjoyed sipping Diet Coke, watching her soaps and basking in the sun. Her most favorite title was that of grandma. After she retired, she moved in with her oldest daughter and helped raise two of her three grandchildren. Left to cherish Krisha's memory are her daughters, Jenny (Tom) Gallagher, and Jessie (Andrew) Quandt, grandchildren: Brynn and Miles Gallagher, and Eliza Quandt, brother Erik (Patty) Miles, former spouse Steve (Jan) Barrett, cousin, Judy Lyons and several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
