Rev. Robert L. Newberry

Rev. Robert L. Newberry, age 81, of Antigo, died on October 9, 2024 at Care Partners Assisted Living under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. He was born on June 16, 1943 in Manitowoc, a son of the late Lucian and Olive (Benedict) Newberry. He married Lorraine "Lorrie" Ferrise on October 22, 1994 in Saxeville, WI. Robert graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc in 1961. He attended the Ottawa University in Kansas and Central Baptist Seminary in Kansas having received his Masters in Divinity. For 39 years he was a minister serving churches in Wisconsin, Kansas, and Iowa. Rev. Newberry retired in 2008. During his retirement, he self-published several books on family history. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Antigo. Survivors include his wife, Lorrie; a son, Robert L. Newberry Jr. of McPherson, KA; a daughter, Rev. -in-law, Donna Ferrise of Niagara, WI; and brother-in-law, Michael (Terry) Ferrise of Faribault, MN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Julie Concialdi; two grandchildren, Caleb Newberry and Becca Wohlbabe; and two brothers-in-law, Roger Chandler and Frank Ferrise. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 15, at 11 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Fletcher Larson officiating. Burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery in Antigo. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 15 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
