Phyllis Huss
Phyllis Huss, of Pickerel, died on Friday, January 10, 2025 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was 86 years old. She was born on February 22, 1938 in Appleton, a daughter of Stanley and Gean (Langenhuizen) Hooyman. She married James Huss on September 24, 1958 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom. She attended St. Nicholas Catholic Grade School and graduated from Freedom High School. Phyllis and Jim owned and operated Lakeside Foods of Hortonville for 20 years. Following retirement they moved to Pickerel. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Pickerel. Phyllis enjoyed spending time on the lake, traveling, snowmobiling and ATV rides, playing cards, and watching nature. She loved crocheting baby blankets and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Dan Huss; granddaughter, Tracy Huss; and a sister, Sandy Maass. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 16 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Pickerel with Rev. Arul Kennedy Gaspar officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to the time of Mass at the church.
