Kathleen M. Malakuskie

Kathleen M. Malakuskie, of Antigo, died on January 8, 2025 at her home under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. She was 79 years old. She was born on March 10, 1945 in Rhinelander a daughter of Alouis and Eleanora (Blau) Palecek. She grew up on Lake Tomahawk State Camp were her father was a prison guard. She moved to Oshkosh after graduating from High School. She married Richard Malakuskie on July 5th, 1986 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Combined Locks. She was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Kathleen lived in New Jersey, where she was the head of payroll for cross-country trucking subsidiaries. Afterwards she moved to Oshkosh and worked at US Bank in charge of auto loans, retiring in Antigo to be closer to her sisters. Kathleen was the leader of the Ski Club in Rhinelander. She enjoyed camping, golfing and staying with family on Crescent Lake. Kathleen was a member of the Camera Club in New Jersey, spending her time traveling with Richard, and taking competition winning slide photos of birds. ted with the Knights of Columbus in Antigo. She loved supporting her community by donating to her church and other local charities. In addition to her husband, survivors include a sister, Nancy (David) Gagnow; good friends, Regina Ehm, and Jerry (Patti) Ehm; nieces, nephews and many cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband, Anthony Ehm; her sisters, Virginia Edwards, Emma Wolosz, and Helen Latshaw; brother David Palecek; and father-in-law, William Ehm. A Mass was held at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church. Burial will take place in Oshkosh at Calvary Catholic cemetery this spring. Details will be updated at a later date.
