Alice E. Cahak, of Antigo, died on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center. She was 101 years old. She was born on March 30, 1923 in the Town of Norwood, a daughter of Henry and Annie (Schisel) Klitz. She married Raymond Cahak on July 11, 1942 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Antigo. He preceded her in death on December 18, 2005. Alice was a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 30 years. She started at Charlie Fondow Nursing Home in Antigo and then worked at Langlade Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1987. She was a member of SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church. Alice volunteered at church with funeral dinners, at C.A.R. and for the Department of Ageing in the craft shop. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, ceramics and reading. She also enjoyed snowmobiling and camping. Alice was a proud grandmother who loved to babysit her grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Cahak; two grandsons, Matt and John Cahak; sister, Viola Frisch, brothers, Bernard Klitz, Harold Klitz, and Raymond Klitz; brothers-in-law, Henry Frisch, Louis Frisch, George Steber, and Leonard Loehrl; and a two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane and Ann Klitz. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 31, at 11:30 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Reverend Kamal Gopu officiating. Entombment will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home.
