Paul Westveer Taylor, of Deerbrook, died on February 6, 2025 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison due to a sudden and severe sepsis leg infection. He was 44 years old. He was born on October 30, 1980 in Whitefish Bay, a son of William and Angie (Westveer) Taylor. He was a graduate of Antigo High School. After school Paul worked as a creative and skilled carpenter, building log homes and cabins. In recent years Paul worked as a Sales Representative for Gulf Eagle Supply alongside his father. Paul was deeply passionate about playing hockey. He was an instrumental part of his high school team's success. After school Paul's love for hockey never diminished, and he took pride in coaching new generations of players. He coached youth hockey in Minocqua at Lakeland Hawks Ice Arena and got his own children involved with the sport. Paul was always willing to take the time to teach and encourage a child who wanted to become a better hockey player to achieve their goals. In the summertime Paul was an avid water skier, being a devoted member of the Crandon Water Ski Club. In addition to his parents, survivors include two sons, Will (Amya) Taylor of Antigo and Karter (Vanessa Nusz) Taylor of Tucson, AZ; a daughter, Elise Taylor of Antigo; two grandchildren, West Taylor and Takoda Taylor; dog companion, Yakoosh; and aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeremy Taylor; grandparents, Donald and Mary Westveer, and Sandra Taylor. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Kempster Lakeside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the AAYHA Antigo Area Youth Hockey Association at P.O. Box 462, Antigo 54409.
