David J. Hersant, age 90 of Antigo, died on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Garden View Assisted Living. He was born on August 15, 1934 in Phlox, a son of the late Albert and Frances (Polack) Hersant. He married Betty Cahak on August 17, 1957. She preceded him in death on September 23, 2012. He was a graduate of Mattoon High School, class of 1951 and served in the United States Army. While in Milwaukee, Dave worked for Leuzinger Construction as a Heavy Equipment Operator for two years and drove for CW Transport for 20 years. In 1995 he moved to Antigo and was employed by Malliette Bus Company driving school bus for special needs students. Dave volunteered at the Ye Ole Craft Shoppe and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking. Survivors include a son, Steve Hersant of Oak Creek; a daughter, Lisa (Mark) Eckstein of Waukesha; four grandchildren Carmen (Eric) Jacobson, Alexa Nehring, Steve Hersant and Kaleigh (Dan Lopez) Hersant; three great-grandchildren, Luke and Gavin Jacobson, and Leo Nehring; two sisters, Valeria "Dolly" (Stan) Foster of Bremerton, WA, and Agnes (Bob) White of Pearson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda Lange, Larry (Carol) Cahak, Terry (Jeanne) ...[more]

ak, all of Antigo, Douglas (Jan) Cahak of Birnamwood, Sandy Cahak and Mary Ellen Cahak both of Antigo. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Danny, Jim, Arnold, Richard, and August; sisters, Mary Schumitsch and Sr. Rosanne Hersant; father and mother-in-law, Leo and Margaret Cahak; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Marion Nowe, Eunice Antoniewicz, Charles Cahak, Sue Hitz, and Jerome Cahak. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 7 at 10:30 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. Kamal Gopu officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6 from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home. A parish wake service will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to the family.
