Raymond Docekal

Raymond Docekal, 76, of Newton, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the VA Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. No services will be held at this time. Raymond was born on April 22, 1948, in Tackoma, Washington. With his parents in the Army he grew up all around the world. He graduated from Knoxville, Iowa with the class of 1966. Raymond then enlisted in the Air Force where he served 2 tours during the Vietnam Conflict. Once out of the Air Force he moved to Des Moines where he worked for Firestone. He married Constance "Connie" Anderson on February 14, 1995. The couple lived in Newton and after he retired from Firestone Raymond worked for Key Co-op in Newton. Raymond was very mechanically inclined and enjoyed tinkering and fixing things. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, crossword puzzles, and watching TV. Those left to cherish his loving memory are his wife Connie Docekal and son Shawn Docekal. He was preceded in death by his parents. Celebrate Life Iowa has been entrusted with the cremation care of Raymond. [more]
