Janet J. (Schutz) Hyde, 86, passed away during the evening of April 17, 2025. She was born in Posey County on February 6, 1939, the daughter of John and Helen (Pfister) Schutz. On April 22, 1966, she married Delmar "Deb" Hyde, and for the next fifty-eight years they made their home together until his passing in 2014. Janet worked at various jobs throughout her life retiring in 2001. Her last employment was at Eastgate Manor where she was a CNA. A woman of many interests, Janet enjoyed being a member of the Little League Congress and attending little league games. She was an avid reader, liked to sew and crochet, and planted many beautiful flowers in her yard. Most of all, Janet loved spending time with her family and friends, whether nearby or farther away. Those who now cherish their memories of time spent with Janet include: her sons, Terry (Karen) Breeden of Palm Coast, Florida and Jonathan Hyde of Washington; son-in-law, Joseph Musgrave of Washington; grandchildren: Travis Breeden, Bryce Lyford, Taylor Lyford, Jordan Hyde, Jalen Hyde, Jessica Williams, Mike Roach, Tony Baumert, and Christina Colvin. During her lifetime, Janet grieved the loss of her parents, John and Helen Schutz; her husband, Delmar Hyde; daughter, Kitrena Richelle Hyde; granddaughter, Veronica Roach; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Hyde; and brother-in-law, Bill Lorrison. In keeping with Janet's wishes, she will be cremated. The family has planned a memorial service for her for Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington, Indiana. Visitation with family and friends will be 2:00-3:00 pm. Pastor Brad Rainey will give the memorial message at 3:00 pm, also at the Ed L.
