Anthony Vin Juhl

Anthony “Big T” Vin Juhl, known lovingly as Tony the Protector, Santa T, Pops, and assuredly about a hundred other nicknames depending on who was hollering at him, passed away on May 17, 2026, at the age of 72. He was born on July 3, 1953, in Waterloo/La Porte City, Iowa, to Shirley Hild (Juhl). Tony later made his home in Cedar Falls, Iowa, where he lived the past thirty-plus-some years. So many knew him as the guy who would try to help you fix a problem, tell you a story that somehow got wilder every single time, and probably made you laugh while doing it. Tony never met a stranger. He had a knack for showing up when people needed him, whether that meant helping someone through a hard time, offering advice nobody asked for but usually needed, or simply reminding people they weren’t alone. He loved Harleys, good stories (most of which he was the author and the main character), roughhousing back in the day, and making people smile. t did the rest. Tony leaves behind his significant other, Darla Miller, along with his children, Tracy Lemons, Jeremy Juhl, Amanda Scott, Ariel Hutter, and stepdaughter Etenn Neese. They knew him best as Pops, protector, storyteller, troublemaker, softie, often a stubborn pain, but forever their dad. Somewhere up there, there’s probably a Harley running too loud, a long story taking way too many detours and getting even longer, and Tony making sure everyone else around is doing alright. He will be deeply missed, endlessly talked about, and loved far beyond this lifetime.
