Emmett Anderson

Emmett (Emmy) Anderson died at home in De Pere on Wednesday, May 25, 2005 after a long illness. He was born November 11, 1929, in Green Bay to the late Howard and Myrtle (Bunker) Anderson. He graduated from Green Bay West High School where he excelled in football, basketball, track and hockey. He played softball and pitched hardball in the AAA league for many years. Emmett served in the U. S. Army in Germany during the Korean War and married his high school sweetheart, Bette Anunson, on October 27, 1951. He was in the floor covering business, including owning E & R Floor Covering and eventually was affiliated with L. P. Mooradian. Fond of all animals, Emmy raised and trained champion field springers. He was active in the N. E. Springer Club and also did volunteer work for the Bay Area Humane Society for its first 25 years. Emmy enjoyed hunting and fishing and in later years enjoyed watching the wildlife, planting apple and evergreen trees, renovating a family log cabin with the help of family and friends and making friends in the Fence area. Anderson, Los Angeles, California; sisters-in-law, Virginia and Donna Anderson, Green Bay; Bobbie (Ken) Cartier, Ripon; and Jan (Al) Noel, Colorado; and nieces and nephews with whom he spent many wonderful times and who were very special to him. He is further survived by other relatives, many very close friends and his dog, Timber. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Ruby Glaeds Anunson; five brothers, Donald, Vernon (Hunk), Russell (Martha), Eugene and Wayne; a sister-in-law, Jane Anunson Brehm; other pets, including the well known, Maude and his horse, Punk. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, May 30, at Lyndahl Funeral Home. Visitation will continue after 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at West Side Moravian Church, 1707 South Oneida St., where the funeral service will take place at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. James Hicks officiating.
