Terry (Homa) Johnson, 51, Ashwaubenon, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at a local hospital. Terry was born September 19, 1953 to Charles Gille and the late Shirley (VanCampenhout) Gille in Green Bay. She was a 1971 graduate of St. Joseph Academy. She was employed at what is now Georgia Pacific her entire adult life. She had many close friends from work and always welcomed co-workers, friends, and family to the Packer tailgate parties. She fought cancer 18 years ago and again for the past three years. Terry was always optimistic during her treatments and surgeries. Terry lived life to the fullest by playing in the band, Class Act, with her husband, David, gardening, taking care of her pets and spending time with her many friends and family members. She helped with many tournaments at Western Racquet Club, was a speaker for the American Cancer Society and raised money for the Bay Area Humane Society. , Green Bay; two brothers, Kerry (Karen) Gille, Green Bay and Chuck Gille, Rockford, Illinois; brothers-in-law, Charles (Shirley) Johnson, Indianapolis and Steve (Bonnie) Johnson, Merritt Island, Florida; sisters-in-law, Diane Frisbie (Walter), Plainfield, Indiana; Sharon Johnson, New York; and Nancy Johnson, Indianapolis; stepbrothers, David (Julie) VandenBusch, Green Bay and Scott (Mary) Vanden Busch, Suamico; stepsisters, Linda (Dick) Berceau, Minnesota, and Lisa Gille, Rockford, Illinois; 19 nieces and nephews; many aunts and uncles; other relatives and friends. In addition to her mother, Shirley Gille, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Larry Johnson; uncles, James Van Campenhout, Tim Delaruelle, and Dan Smith; an aunt, Barbara Pamperin; fraternal grandparents, Raymond and Eva Gille; and maternal grandparents, Edward and Francis VanCampenhout. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday (TODAY) September 24, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Lombardi Ave. at Ridge Rd. where a wake service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue after 9:30 A.M. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Church, 2597 Glendale Avenue, Howard, where the Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 A.M. with the Rev. Gregory Smith officiating. The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Koch, the staff of Green Bay Oncology for their 18 years of care for Terry and the second floor nursing staff at Bellin Hospital for the compassionate care that was given.
