Robert Mallon

Robert J. ?Bob? Mallon, 83, DePere, passed away Sunday March 13, 2005 at home. He was born October 16, 1921 in Milwaukee to the late Harry and Genevieve (Tidmarsh) Mallon. Effie Kinney Mallon was his stepmother. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison, receiving his degree in commerce in 1942. Bob married Mary O'Brien of Chicago, Illinois, on December 6, 1945. Prior to that he had served with the Marine Corps in the South Pacific. He was recalled to active duty with the local reserve unit for the Korean War. Somewhat later he served as commanding officer of the 7th Engineer Company of Green Bay. He was a member of the 6th Marine Division Association. Bob received his certificate as a CPA from the State of Illinois and later became a lifetime member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He was past President of St. Norbert's Parents' Association. He was also a longtime life member of the Optimist Club of Green Bay where he served in numerous capacities and helped form its foundation. He was a member and past chapter chair of SCORE, Green Bay. Survivors include his wife Mary; daughter Kathleen of De Pere; two sons Terry (Nieves), Colorado Springs, Colorado and Greg (Kate), Indianapolis, Indiana; four grandchildren, Angelica and Marie Kjell of Colorado Springs, Anne Blackfield and David Blackfield of Indianapolis; a sister Virginia Randolph, Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:30 P.M. Thursday, March 17, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Lombardi Ave. at Ridge Rd. where a wake service will be held at 8:00 P.M. Visitation will continue after 9:00 A.M. Friday at St. Francis Xavier Parish of De Pere, 220 South Michigan, where the Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 A.M. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
