Robert Giese

Robert James Giese, 78, died Thursday, December 8, 2005, in Green Bay after a six-year battle with Waldenstrom Macroglobulinemia. Bob was born in De Pere on November 22, 1927 to Robert R. and Ella (Kuck) Giese. He graduated from East De Pere High School where he was active in football, basketball and baseball. Bob served in the U. S. Army from 1950 to 1952 at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and Fort Benning, Georgia. He married Donna R. Jahn from Green Bay on December 23, 1950 in Rolla, Missouri. Upon discharge from the Army, Bob and Donna returned to Green Bay where he was employed by the U. S. Postal Service until his retirement. He then worked at TEC Systems in De Pere and also at Denis Sport Shop. His favorite hobby was raising and training harness race horses which became a family project. Traveling to NASCAR races was another family adventure. Bob is survived by his wife, Donna; a son, Randall S. Giese, Portage, Wisconsin; his daughters, Diane L. Hamil, Green Bay and her son, Adam Hamil, La Mesa, California; and Kathryn J. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Elenor and Noel Bermingham and a brother-in-law, Thomas Jensen. Friends may call after 10:00 A.M. Sunday, December 18, at Lyndahl Funeral Home where a Service of Remembrance will take place at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain Steven Fewell officiating.
