Margaret Servaes

Margaret Mayer Servaes, 78, Village of Howard, died Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at home surrounded by her family. She was born March 22, 1927 to the late William and Ulia Johnson in Alabama. She married James Mayer and later married Roland Servaes. The most important thing in Margaret's life was her family. She was the most loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother a person could ever have had. Margaret will always be remembered for sharing her wonderful meals with her family and friends and her unique sense of humor. Survivors include her four children and their spouses, James (Jane) Mayer, Athen, Tennessee; Robert (Dianne) Mayer, Village of Howard; Barbara Tankersley, Alexander City, Alabama; and Mary (Neil) Lewis, Suamico; 14 grandchildren, Holly (Tim) Kelley; Trey (Lindsey) Mayer; Robert Mayer Jr.; Kristie (Dave) Richmond; Timmy Mayer; Dustin Gering; Patrick (Kara) Gering; Jennifer (Dave) Sylvester; Paula Mayer and fianc?, Ryan; Tracy (Eddie) McDaniel; Wendy (Michael) McGee; Stacy Lewis; Katie Lewis and fiance' James; and Joe Lewis; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Sue (Bob) Patterson, Alabama; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. ll be dearly missed by her loving dog, Bobo. In addition to her parents and husband, Roland, she was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers. Friends may call Saturday, January 28, from 10:00 A.M. until 12 noon at Lyndahl Funeral Home. A mass will be held at a later date at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Alexander City, Alabama. Burial will be in City Cemetery in Alexander City, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Margaret's name. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Diane Christel, Dr. Anthony Jaslowski, Asera Care Hospice, especially Suzie and Jerry and the Meals on Wheels program.
