Roger Nielsen

Roger H. Nielsen, 66, Village of Howard, died unexpectedly Thursday, January 24, 2008. He was born September 1, 1941, to the late Hans and Meryl (Peterson) Nielsen in Medford, Wisconsin. Roger served his country in the National Guard. On April 15, 1972, he married Kathryn Hallada at the First United Methodist Church in Green Bay. He had been employed with NCR as a technical service representative, retiring in 2006. Roger was a member of First United Methodist Church. Roger was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman who was not content to take it easy after retirement. He took pride in his gardening and was glad to share the wealth of his harvest with friends and family. Along with his numerous other hobbies and side projects, he enjoyed the company of his grandson and catching up with friends over a cup of coffee at The Bay Family Restaurant. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn; two children, Erik and Jennifer Nielsen, Stevens Point and Gretchen Nielsen, Florida; a special grandson, Hans; one brother, Steve Nielsen, Coleman; one sister, Joan (Jay) Froming, Green Bay; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
