Gary J. Van Straten

Gary J. Van Straten, 66, Wrightstown, died of a massive heart attack Friday, October 3, 2008, on the job doing what he loved most. He was born December 25, 1941 to the late Norbert and Anna Marie (Aerts) Van Straten in Wrightstown. On September 14, 1963, he married Sharon Hansford at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Green Bay. Gary had owned and operated Gary Van Straten Construction Company for over 40 years where he enjoyed custom home building. His daughters and wife were the pride and joy of his life. Some things Gary enjoyed doing were spending time with family and friends at their cottage in Lakewood especially during hunting season and holidays. He loved watching his grandchildren grow up and spending time with them. Through the years, Sharon and Gary enjoyed a special bond and friendship with Dave and Jan O'Brien. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Lyndahl Funeral Home where a memorial service will take place at 7 p.m. with Deacon Michael Schmidt officiating, a dinner to follow the memorial service.
