Daniel Boyd

Daniel (Dan) L. Boyd, 61, resident of Green Bay was called to his Heavenly Home on Saturday, March 28, 2009 in Green Bay with his family by his side. He was born in Marinette, Wisconsin, to the late Leo and Mildred (Antholt) Boyd. Dan grew up in Pound, Wisconsin and White Potato Lake. He graduated from Coleman High School and the University of Wisconsin, Madison. On September 7, 1968, he married Bonnie Detrie in Green Bay. Dan especially enjoyed time spent with his family and at his cottage at White Potato Lake. He started out his career as a life insurance agent with Fidelity Union Life for 7 years and then was an agent with American Family Insurance for the past 33 years, retiring December 31, 2008. Dan was an active member on the church council at Pilgrim Lutheran Church and past president of the White Potato Lake Association for 25 years. d Jean Boyd, Crivitz; and Larry and Karen Boyd, all of Green Bay; Bonnie's brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Kathy Detrie, Eugene, Oregon and Robert and Chris Detrie, Green Bay; a special niece, Nikki (Troy) DeJardin, Green Bay; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Boyd and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lawrence and Edith Detrie. Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, April 1, at Lyndahl Funeral Home. Visitation will continue after 10 am Thursday at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1731 St. Agnes Drive, where the funeral service will take place at 11 am with the Rev. Scott Malme officiating.
