Nancy Chapman

Nancy A. Chapman, 80, Hobart, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010. She was born June 20, 1929 in Manitowoc, WI to the late Ferdinand and Florence (Wuellner) Kerscher. On May 29, 1970 she married Richard Chapman in Green Bay, WI. Nancy enjoyed swimming at the YWCA, biking, golfing, traveling, camping and being out and about in Door County. She retired from Wisconsin Bell in 1984 after 30 years of service. Nancy was an avid bowler and promoter of the sport. She was a member of the Green Bay and Manitowoc Women's Bowling Associations. She served as president of the Wisconsin Women's Bowling Association for 12 years. Nancy participated in 42 national bowling tournaments and organized charters for bowlers from NE Wisconsin and the U.P. to experience tournaments on a national level for 35 years. She founded and served as president of the Wisconsin Women's Bowling Writers Association and edited the publication Bowling Action for 25 years. Nancy also served as president of the National Women's Bowling Writers Association and held many national offices in WIBC/USBC. the United States Bowling Congress Hall of Fame for meritorious service. She treasured the many friendships from her bowling family. Survivors include her husband, Richard (Chappy); daughter, Sally (Jan) Dery; son, Steven (Lorna) Kutchera; two step-children, James (Patti) Chapman, Nancy Fuller and Nick Legros; six grandchildren, Renee Kutchera and special friend, Danny Tennant, Emily Kutchera, Erin (David) Smith, Alison Chapman, Brandon Fuller, Tracy Fuller; two great-grandchildren, Alaina and Neroli; brother, Paul (Lois) Kerscher; three nieces, Amy Thompson, Mary Kay Heath, Lisa Buckley. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2010, at Lyndahl Funeral Home in Green Bay. Visitation will continue Monday, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1301 South Ridge Road Green Bay, where a funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Earl Vorpagel III officiating. Inurnment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, WI. The family would like to thank Green Bay Oncology, St. Vincent Hospital and Unity Hospice.
