Russell Gillis

Russell H. Gillis, 84, Ashwaubenon, died Saturday, May 15, 2010 at a local hospital. He was born December 20, 1925 to the late William and Ursula (DeGreef) Gillis in Howard, Wisconsin. On June 22, 1946, he married the former Cleora Langlay in Green Bay. For twenty-seven years, Russell worked at Hurlbut Prestress. He also drove a truck for Nelson Trucking for ten years. He was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, and past president of Longshoremans Union for ten years. Russell like dancing, hunting, and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Cleora, and children: Dolli (Dave) Strauss, Green Bay, Bruce (Carol) Gillis, Ashwaubenon, Paul Gillis, Florida, Ron (Sue) Gillis, Ashwaubenon, Matthew Gillis, Wisconsin, Jerry (Torri) Gillis, Chase, 2 brothers: James, and Charles Gillis, 3 sisters: Lorraine (Richard) Lindbo, Marie (William) Billodeau, Evelyn (Cletus) Laabs, 10 grand children, 6 great grand children and 6 step grand children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son Wayne Douglas, a brother Raymond Gillis, and sisters-in-law.
