William Hicks

William "Bill" Hicks, 87, Green Bay, died on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at a local hospice facility. He was born on March 18, 1923 in Alexandria, Indiana to the late Raymond and Mabel Hicks. He married the former Marilyn Lyons in July of 1949 in Zanesville, Ohio. She preceded him in death on January 1993. William graduated high school in 1942 and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He attended the International Business College in Fort Wayne, IN and then attended Central Radio and Television School in Kansas City, MO. In 1948, he was employed by Wisconsin Central Airlines, later to be called North Central Airlines. He served as a station manager in Menominee, MI for 32 years and then as district sales manager in Green Bay until retiring in 1984. William was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Menominee, Michigan Lodge #269. He is survived by one son and daughter in law, Steven and Theresa Hicks, Tigeras, NM; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Gregory Gilbert, Menasha; Barbara and Christopher Bradley, Uptown, MA; one granddaughter: Sarah Gilbert, Milwaukee; and one sister Evelyn (Richard) Hire, Florida.
