Vivian Hansen

Vivian Dorothy (Everard) Hansen, 86, Hobart, passed away early Friday morning, January 21, 2011 four years and one day after her late husband, Leland Hansen, at a local Senior Residential Care Center. She was born in Upper Michigan on July 17, 1924 to the late Theodore and Virginia (Neuens) Everard. Her family later moved to east Green Bay and eventually to Hobart. On November 26, 1942, she married Leland Robert Hansen and they successfully farmed in Hobart until 1980. For several years, she sewed bibs that were sold both locally and nationally. She also published three volumes of cookbooks cataloging her lifetime recipe collection, thereby leaving a legacy for generations to come. Survivors include two daughters and their spouses: Margaret (Leo) Vande Hei and Jeanette (Dave) Wierer, both of Ashwaubenon; nine grandchildren: Sherry (Bob) Friesen, Texas; Steve Hansen (fiancée, Jenn Koss), Hobart; Scott Hansen (fiancée, Laura Schierland), Howard; Stan Hansen (special friend, Gary Boettcher), Neenah; Jim (Kristen) Vande Hei, Illinois; Pam (Brian) Wondrash, Bellevue; Craig (Tanya) Vande Hei, Colorado; Jay (Katie) Wierer, Milwaukee; and Jessica Wierer,...[more]

In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by one son, Ronald; and three sisters: Rose Marie (Mike) Nikodem, Frances (Bukoske) Lemerond and Elaine (Sobiek) Everard. . Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 24, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, where a parish wake service and time for sharing memories will take place at 7 pm. Visitation will continue after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 145 St. Joseph Drive, Oneida, where a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. David Duffeck officiating. Entombment will be at the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
