Wendell Ivan Elliott

Wendell I. Elliott, 91, of Webster City, died Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Southfield Wellness Community. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Asbury United Methodist Church, with Rev. Linda Bibb officiating. Burial will be prior to the service at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post # 191. Wendell Ivan Elliott, son of Harold and Clara Christenson Elliott, was born January 24, 1920 at Webster City. He received his education in Webster City schools, graduating from Lincoln High in 1938. He started farming with his father southwest of Webster City. During W.W. II, he served in the U. S. Navy. On February 9, 1947, he married LaVonne Marie Snell in the Asbury United Methodist Church. The couple operated a grain and livestock farm in Webster Township of Hamilton County. He retired from farming in 2003. LaVonne died July 15, 2006. He had resided at Southfield since July of 2011.
