James Louis Braun
James Louis Braun, of Antigo, died Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital following a severe stroke. He was 68 years old. He was born on November 27, 1942 in Antigo, a son of the late Louis and Lillian (Theisen) Braun. He married Mary Anne Koeppel on July 11, 1964 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Phlox. She preceded him in death on January 3, 2004. He attended St. John Grade School and graduated from Antigo High School in 1961. Mr. Braun received an Associates Degree in Accounting from Nicolet Technical College and worked for Schultz Creamery in the plant, as a bookkeeper and a truck driver. For 23 years he drove school bus for Malliette Bus Company retiring in 2005. Mr. Braun was a member of the Whittle People, National Wood Carvers Association and Hallmark Collector's Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, treasure collecting and spending time with his grandchildren. r; six sisters, Elaine Meyer, Antigo, Phyllis Mattek, Neva, Alice (Alvin) Schroeder, Antigo, Margaret Flamond, Gainesville, FL, Patricia (Irv) Wagner, Marquette, MI and Carol (Tom) Vanderveldon, Plains, MT; a brother, Ray (Dorothy) Braun, Antigo; and three goddaughters, Brenda Braun, Nicole Marichal and Stella Goedderz. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, Jim Mattek, Omer Meyer, and Richard Flamond. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 12 p.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Phlox. Visitation will be 3:30 - 8 p.m. on Friday with a parish wake service at 4 p.m. and a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home and 10:30 - 11:30 AM on Saturday at the funeral home.
