Robert "Bob" Marcy

Robert "Bob" Charles Marcy was born on November 11, 1923 on the family farm in Jackson County, Minnesota to Vernon and Agnes (Peterson) Marcy. He received his education from the Windom Public Schools where he graduated with the Class of 1942. On March 12, 1971, Bob was united in marriage to Shirley Stoner at the United Presbyterian Church in Bloomington, Minnesota. Bob farmed for several years and then worked for Hiebert Electric. After working there he owned Valley Appliance Store in Jackson for two years. Bob then worked for several car dealers including, Anderson Dodge, Harold Chevrolet in Bloomington, and Stinson Chevrolet in Sioux Falls. In 1973, Bob and Shirley moved to Brandon, South Dakota. Bob passed away on Saturday morning, December 3, 2011 at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with his loving wife, Shirley of forty years by his side at the age of 88. Bob was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Windom. He was a member of the Windom Masonic Lodge for fifty-seven years and a Master Mason. He was also a Shriner. Bob is survived by his wife of forty years, Shirley Marcy of Brandon, SD; one son, Barry Marcy and his wife, Lynn, of Custer, SD; three grandsons and six great-grandchildren, Mark Marcy and his wife, Donna, and their children, Justin, Michael, and MaKayla; Joeseph Marcy and his wife, Kara, and their children, Seven and Coltyn; and Shawn Cox and his son, Mason; and several other relatives.
