Richard Miller

In lieu of flowers memorials to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Richard was born June 27, 1931 near Boone, Iowa to Albert T. and Grace Pearl Miller. He was married to Della Minnie Akers on February 18, 1952 at the bus depot in Indianola. They moved to their farm home in rural Ackworth on June 13, 1953 where they raised their family. They were blessed with 7 children: Diane, Nancy, Deb, Rick, Rocky, Nettie, and Tim. Richard was a member of the National Guard and had worked at Gibbs Cook Caterpillar, and did road construction for Warren County, and also enjoyed farming. Richard loved his family and most of all he loved Della, his wife of 56 years. He and Della have left a legacy of children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great great grandson. Richard passed away at his home on October 3, 2008. He was preceded in death by his son Rick; two grandsons; a great grandson; and a brother Billy Miller.
