Irene Wright

Memorials to the Milo Christian Union Church, Taylor House Hospice, or the Milo Fire Department. Irene Margaret was born in rural Wayne County on January 28, 1921 to O.R. and Mary Roberts Cox. She graduated from Millerton High School. Irene married Robert Willoughby and was blessed with a son Robert Jr. and later married Ted Wright and was blessed with 4 children: Debra, Mary Lynn, Angie, and Craig. She enjoyed making a home for her family intertwined with love, faith, and music. She was very involved with her church and her community, playing the piano and violin for her church and in community functions for over 50 years. Irene passed away October 14, 2008 in Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her husband Ted Wright; her parents; an infant brother Arlo Cox; and 2 infant granddaughters: Sheri Denise and Dawn Ann Willoughby. She will be missed by her children: Bob (Linda) Willoughby of Jacksonville, FL, Debra (Kevin) Bauder of Crystal, MN, Mary Lynn (Ken) Keeney of Milo, Angie (John) Anderson of Ankeny, and Craig Wright of Milo; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sisters: Millie Laurinas of Branson, MO, and Betty (Gene) Arns of Urbandale.
