Virginia McGee

V. Sue (Hartness) McGee, age 84, of Albia, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at the Monroe County Care Center in Albia. V. Sue was born on March 20, 1925 near Lovilia to Clifford and Mabel (Comer) Hartness Sr. She married Neil J. McGee Jr. on April 18, 1941 in Bethany, MO. They were blessed with six children. Sue was a farmwife working very hard all her life. Sue, Neil and family farmed in Mantua Twp, Monroe Co. IA until retirement. She enjoyed her music, flower gardens, photography, nature, and truly enjoyed genealogy. She is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings: Lewis A. Hartness, Maxine Hartness Roberts, Jack Hartness, Clifford Hartness Jr., and Wayne Hartness. She is survived by her children: Jerry G. McGee of Hartford, MO, Mabel F. McGee Schluessler of Melrose, IA, Linda S. McGee Davis of Black Forest, CO, Neil J., McGee III of New Sharon, IA, Timothy T. McGee of Blakesburg, IA, and Scarlett R. McGee Salladay of Cincinnati, IA; eleven grandchildren including Samantha, Cindy, Shawn, Justin, Travis, Linnea, Laurel, Tammy, Rusty, Dusty, and Dakota, and seventeen great grandchildren.
