Larry was born May 30, 1943 in Minneapolis, MN to Stewart and Dorothy Evenson Freeman. He grew up in Minnesota and entered the Army in 1960 serving in the United States and Germany until 1963. He was a businessman for many years and after retiring he owned and operated a bar in Melcher-Dallas.
He loved being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with his children. He loved being a grandpa and treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren. Larry enjoyed life and the people he met along life's journey.
Larry passed away February 1, 2010 at the Griffin Nursing Center at the age of 66 years after a battle with cancer. Preceding Larry in death were his parents and an infant grandson.
Larry is survived by his children: Larry "Sam" Freeman Jr. of Chariton, Judy Freeman of Minneapolis, Eric Freeman of Williamson, and Kyle (Shannon) Freeman of Columbia; several grandchildren; siblings: Billy Freeman, Lee Freeman, Larae Nelson, and Kathy Blue; along with many relatives and friends.
