George Chance

George Dean Chance, age 53, of Oskaloosa, formerly of Lovilia, Iowa, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010 at his residence. George was born on June 3, 1956 in Monroe County to Floyd "Bill" and Rebecca (Gladson) Chance. He graduated from Albia Community High School, class of 1974. He married Patty McNeal on August 4, 1979, and to this union two children were born: Lindsi and Billy. George later married Jean Kelderman on February 14, 1998 in Oskaloosa. George worked and retired from the Clow Valve Company in Oskaloosa. He enjoyed attending and watching Iowa Hawkeye games. He also liked to attend High School basketball games, especially Pella Christian Eagles and the Albia Blue Demons. George is survived by his wife, Jean of Oskaloosa, two children: Lindsi Chance of Ottumwa, and Billy Chance of Albia; two grandchildren: Hanna Chance and KayLee Weeldon, two step-children: Jodie (Chad) Strommen and Sergeant Jason (Lisa) Stout, and four step-grandchildren: Destinee Stout, Ashley Strommen, Rachel and Rebecca Stout.
