A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 6:00 PM At the Truth Assembly of God Church in Chariton. Memorials to Truth Assembly of God Church. Carol was born in Clarke County on June 7, 1934 to Peter and Bernice Blain Bly. She attended country school before moving to Des Moines and graduating from Des Moines Tech in 1952. She worked as an administrative assistant in the Agricultural Sales Department at Firestone for over 30 years. Carol enjoyed working with her hands doing needlepoint, sewing, and making many doll clothes. She volunteered her time and talents to the crisis center, church, and nursing home. Carol always wanted to help and was very generous to those in need. Her grandchildren were very important to her and she took all her grandchildren to church. She was a great role model for her entire family. Carol passed away suddenly March 18, 2010 at the Lucas County Health Center.
