1980 they moved back to Iowa, living in New Sharon before moving to Chariton where he was plant manager at Chariton Aluminum until its closing in 1990. They moved back to Rockwall, Texas where Charles worked for C-Power and retired in 1994 to spend time with his family. Charles and Corlene started their own business making bird feeders. In 2002 they moved back to Chariton where they could be close to their family. In the time of Charles Crane's life he loved many, taught many, made memories with his family, made many friends, and touched the lives of all who knew him. Charles is survived by his wife of 58 years, Corlene M. Crane of Chariton; his 4 children: Charles Mitchell Crane and wife Tamara of Newbury Park, CA, Connie Hixenbaugh and husband Richard of Chariton, Cathy Letze and husband Ray of Chariton, and Matthew Crane and wife Jenell of Quinlan, TX; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and sisters: Donna Davis of Phoenix and Shirley VanGenderan of New Sharon. He will be joining his family in heaven; parents: Charles V. Crane and Mable L. Higgins; and a brother Jack D. Crane.
