D. Dean Neer

Dean was born in Lacona, Iowa to Chester and Tina (Hendrickson) Neer. He passed away October 2, 2011 at his home in Lucas. Dean was raised and attended school in Lacona, Iowa. He was married to Carmen McVey on June 1, 1957 at the Lacona Methodist Church; they were blessed with 7 children. Dean was a retired logger and enjoyed scrapping iron. He was a hard worker, an honest and fair person; kind hearted, enjoyed helping people, and always kept his word. He was a supportive and forgiving father. He loved having his family around, especially his grandchildren. Camp outs at the farm, picnics, and the cookie jar were just a few of the grandchildren's favorite memories of Dean. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen in 2008; siblings: Melvin Neer, Marvin Neer, Doyle Neer, Arleen Slack, June Freeman, and Don Neer.
