Cliff Welker OTTUMWA, Iowa - Cliff E. Welker, 88, of 700 W. Alta Vista Ave., entered the presence of God at 8:25 a.m. on January 22, 2012, at Hospice House. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at the Albia Road Baptist Church. The Rev. Jeremy Skinner will officiate services. Cremation will follow the services. Visitation will be from 1 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at the Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 6 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Albia Road Baptist Church or to Hospice of Wapello and Davis Counties at 927 Pennsylvania Ave., Ottumwa, Iowa 52501. Cliff was born on November 27, 1923, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Jean and Hazel M. Flood Welker. He married Connie Stewart on May 5, 2007. He was raised in Muscatine, and served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He joined Northwestern Bell March 3, 1947, starting as a lineman, then holding several jobs, becoming manager at Estherville.
