Neil Cutler

Gerald Neil Cutler, son of Harvey H. Cutler and Grace (Patton) Cutler, was born on December 23, 1933 in Shenandoah, Iowa and lived most of his life on the Century farm near Northboro, Iowa. Neil entered into the arms of the Lord on July 16, 2011 at the Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska from complications due to an accident at his home. Neil was a good natured man, loving to laugh and enjoyed life to the fullest. As a young boy, he enjoyed riding horses and was involved in the Northboro Rough Riders Club. He also enjoyed playing basketball and baseball in school. Neil very much enjoyed fishing and traveling with his wife Iva Jean to all of the United States. They most recently enjoyed trips to Alaska and the southern states. Neil loved the life of a farmer and being a steward of the land. Neil graduated in the Class of 1952. After graduation he enlisted in the U S Navy of which he was very proud. He met his wife, Iva Jean Shirley of Randolph, Iowa and they were married on December 25, 1954. Survivors include his wife Iva Jean of the home; daughter, Julie Graham and husband Ron of rural Northboro; son, Mark Cutler and wife Mary of rural Northboro; three grandchildren, Kyle Graham and wife Hannah of St. Joseph, MO, Kameron Johnson and husband Brandon of Council Bluffs, IA and Michael Cutler of Columbus, NE; and two great grandchildren, Tristyn Johnson and Kenna Graham. Others left to cherish his memory include, brother-in-law, Max Miller and wife Kay of Ericson, NE; five nephews, Jeff Miller and wife Pam and family of Ericson, NE, Steve Miller and wife Rita and family of Graham, MO, Dan Miller and wife Denise and family of Red Oak, IA, Gene Taylor and Jourdan of Gaithersburg, MD, and Mike Griffes and family of Missoula, MT; two nieces, Cindy Taylor of Lake Stevens, WA, and Jeanne Koepplin and husband Bob and family of Iona, ID; sister-in-law, Patricia Griffes and husband Bob of Seeley Lake, MT; and cousin, Doris Messick of Graham, MO; other relatives and many friends. Neil was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Jo Ann Miller and Chrystal Taylor; brother-in-law, Chet Taylor and a niece, Lori Miller.
