Carl Stogdill

Carl Clifford Stogdill was born on June 3, 1928 in rural Malvern, Iowa, the son of Darrell Mason and Eula Mame (Baucom) Stogdill. Carl entered into eternal peace on Monday, August 22, 2011 at the Gardenview Care Center in Shenandoah, Iowa. Carl's early years were spent in the Thurman area. In 1952 Carl enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country with pride until he was honorably discharged in 1954. He served as a mechanic instructor. On May 27, 1955 he was united in marriage to Donna Lou Jurgens in Sidney, Iowa. The couple was blessed with the birth of three children Jeff, Randy and Melanie. During his working years Carl was employed at National By-Products as a night foreman from 1955 until his retirement in 1993. Some of his passions included fixing cars, attending garage sales, repairing old radios and jewelry, and selling items at flea markets. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Velma Boyer and Marjorie Mattox; brothers Gilbert, Robert, Virgil, Richard, Lyle, Ronald, Marvin, Larry and Roy; and a grandson Bobby Reafleng.
