Carol Jean MacDonald Olson

Carol Jean MacDonald Olson , was born on Feb. 12, 1920 at York, NE.; daughter of Carl Emanuel Olson and Nellie Sophia Wedell Olson. Carol spent her childhood in the Strahan, Iowa area, graduating from Strahan High School in 1937 as class valedictorian. She was united in marriage to James Orlen MacDonald on July 24, 1939 at Rockport, MO., after their marriage they resided in Strahan, Imogene and Essex, Iowa. After the death of James she continued to live in Essex. On January 6, 1996 she was united in marriage to Fredrick Eugene Olson at Essex, Iowa, where they would live, later moving to Shenandoah. Through the years Carol was employed at Dr. William Edmunds in Red Oak , later Sears in Shenandoah, and First National Bank in Essex. Carol was a faithful and active member of Faith Covenant Church in Essex, Iowa. She loved her family and enjoyed sewing, crafts and her church. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, James and Fredrick; daughters, Cheryl Sue MacDonald and Janice Elaine Bellew; grandson, Brett MacDonald daughter in law Joan Myrna McDonald; son in law Allen Bellew; step daughter Deloris Olson.
