Charles Henry Prindle, one of six children of Charles Marion and Hazel (Etherington) Prindle, was born February 3, 1935 at his parent's farm home northeast of Glenwood, IA. Charles, familiarly known as Chuck, attended rural school at West Liberty No. 2 and Glenwood High School. Chuck was drafted in the U.S. Army in October of 1957 until October of 1959 and had served in Germany and Turkey. Chuck returned home to Glenwood and began working at the Glenwood State Hospital School and in a few years became a maintenance supervisor. Chuck and Karon Kay Kates were united in marriage on November 28, 1959 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Glenwood. They made their first home in Glenwood and in 1963 moved to Pacific Junction, IA. Chuck and Karon were blessed with sons Tim and Craig. Chuck was a member of the United Methodist Church in Pacific Junction. He had served on the Pacific Junction City Council and had served as mayor pro-tem. Some of Chuck's enjoyments included taking care of his lawn, vegetable gardening, and woodworking. Chuck retired in December of 1995 after working at the State Hospital School for 36 years. He had attained the age of 67 years, 2 months, and 17 days. Chuck was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife Karon of Pacific Junction; his mother Hazel Prindle of rural Glenwood, IA; sons Tim Prindle and fiancee Maria Guillen and her sons Josh and Chris Pickering of Cedar City, Utah; Craig Prindle and his wife Heather and their daughter Jordyn of Florissant, MO; sisters Dorothy Konfrst and husband Fred of Glenwood, Darlene Laughlin of Jefferson City, MO, and Rosalie Desgranges of Glenwood; brothers Fred Prindle and wife Barbara of Prior Lake, MN and Wendell Prindle and his wife Gloria of Glenwood; sister-in-law Cheri Greene and husband Frank of Malvern, IA; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
