a terrific cook and was known for her delicious chicken and noodles, kolaches, and pies. Everyone enjoyed coming to the Schroeder home for a meal as Hilda was a gracious hostess and made everyone feel welcome. Hilda was very content with her life and didn't want for anything. Hilda and Robert celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 26, 1985. Almost one year later, Robert died suddenly of a heart attack on June 11, 1986 at the age of 79 years. Later that year, Hilda moved to Malvern where she enjoyed living at the Diamond K Apartments for 15 years. Due to failing health, Hilda moved to the Manor of Malvern on May 24, 2002. She died on April 24, 2003 at the Manor at the age of 93 years, 8 months, and 16 days. Hilda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three half-sisters, Anna Haruda, Lydia Klapal, and Ella Mottl; sisters Josie Bratka and her husband Jim and Elizabeth Gross; sister-in-law Leona Eret and son-in-law Norman Sinner. Hilda is survived by her children, Frances Sinner of Glenwood, IA, Donna Mattson and her husband Richard of Hooper, NE, Roberta Bode and her husband Jerald also of Hooper, and Donnie Schroeder and his wife Diane of Malvern; brother Frank Eret of Avoca, IA; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many friends.
