Helen L. Frink

Helen Lucille Frink, one of three children of Aden and Ethel (Antrim) Ireland, was born near Malvern, Iowa on August 27, 1913. Helen attended the Malvern schools. On January 20, 1930, she and Clarence Albion "Babe" Frink were married at the Methodist Church in Red Oak, Iowa. They began their married life on a farm near Henderson, Iowa and the marriage was blessed with daughter Elizabeth Ann and sons Lawrence Eugene, Gordon Leon, and Clarence Daniel. Helen and Babe later moved east of Henderson to a Century Farm, which had belonged to his grandfather. Helen enjoyed being a farm wife and mother and later became an Avon representative for 35 years and a member of the Avon President's Club. Helen was a member of the Henderson Christian Church and the Christian Women's Fellowship, Henderson Library Club, and the Nishna Valley Women's Club, J.U.G. (Just Us Girls Club.) Her greatest joy was being with her family and her other enjoyments included crocheting, baking bread, and canning. Babe and Helen had been married 63 years when Babe died on January 31, 1993. , Iowa where she enjoyed her new home and friends. Helen died on March 26, 2004 at the Montgomery County Hospital in Red Oak at the age of 90 years, 6 months and 29 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Babe; sons Dan Frink and Lawrence Frink; sister Doris Reddout; great grandson Zachary James-Taylor Frink and great granddaughter Elise LaRue Byler; brothers-in-law Robert Frink, Marian Frink, and Harvey Frink. Helen is survived by her daughter Elizabeth LaRue and her husband Duke of Lincoln, Nebraska; son Gordon Frink and his wife Barb of Henderson, Iowa; brother Max Ireland and his wife Peg of Storm Lake, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren; daughters-in-law Bonnie Frink of Henderson and Carol Frink Keast of Red Oak; sisters-in-law Irene Schoening of Oakland, Iowa and Edie Bergantzel of Henderson, Iowa; brother-in-law Mike Frink of Omaha, Nebraska; many friends and family.
