Kathleen Diane Bailey, one of four children of Helen Louise (Schroeder) and George Taylor Pearce, Sr., was born on May 22, 1938 in Decatur, Nebraska. The Pearce family moved from Decatur to Harrisburg, Nebraska briefly before moving to Elkhorn, Nebraska in 1952. Kathleen attended area country schools and schools in Elkhorn, graduating from Elkhorn High School in 1956 before her family moved to Malvern, Iowa. Kathleen and Robert Eugene Bailey were united in marriage on December 22, 1956 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They made their home in Council Bluffs and their marriage was blessed with three children, David Eugene, Paul Allen, and Sandra Jo. Kathleen enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family. In 1990, Kathleen attended Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, Nebraska. Kathleen and Robert moved to Calico Rock, Arkansas in the early 90's. Kathleen was a member of Calico Rock United Methodist Church and had been a Cub Scout den mother. She enjoyed traveling in their RV, quilting, photography and genealogy. She passed away at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs on November 24, 2010, at the age of 72 years, 6 months, and 2 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and George Pearce; husband Robert Bailey; and brother-in-law Glen Bailey. Kathleen is survived by her children, David Bailey of Council Buffs, Paul Bailey of Brownsville, TX, and Sandra Nichols of Kansas City, MO; five grandchildren, Sasha Bailey, Trevor Bailey, Eddie Bailey, Jonathan Bailey and Gregory Bailey; two great grandchildren; brothers, Tom Pearce and wife Kathy, and George Pearce, Jr. and wife Rebecca, all of Malvern; sister Lora Darrah and husband Neal of Glenwood, IA; brother-in-law Art Bailey of Cumberland, IA; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Dressen of Papillion, NE, and Betty Hammerich of Ft. Worth, TX; nieces and nephews; other relatives, many friends, and her yorkie "Sarge".
