Richard J. Lamm

Richard James Lamm, the only child of Ernest B. Lamm and Helen Ruth (Skinner) Lamm, was born on December 7, 1945, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. At age two, he and his parents moved to live in Roseville, California. Fondly known as "Dick", he grew up and attended schools in California, and graduated from San Juan High School in Citrus Heights, California in 1965. Dick and Patricia Ford were married on October 9, 1965 in Roseville and their marriage was blessed with three children, Lisa Lehann, Lori Lynn, and Richard Ernest. They divorced in 1978. Dick and Pamela Smith were married in 1979 in Orangeville, California and they adopted a daughter, Adrianna Alyssa. They divorced in 1992. Dick worked as the director of environmental services for Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Sacramento, California until he was disabled by a back injury in 1986. He returned to Iowa and owned and operated the Tabor Auction House in Tabor, Iowa, from 1993 to 1998. Dick moved to Red Oak, Iowa in July of 2008. ed away on May 27, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Home in Red Oak at the age of 65 years, 5 months, and 20 days. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Lamm Reafleng, in July of 2007. Dick is survived by his children, Lisa McCall and husband Craig of Villisca, IA, Lori Bare of Bellvue, NE, Richard Lamm and wife Carlie of Elk Grove, CA, and Adrianna Lamm of Citrus Heights, CA; father Ernest Lamm of Roseville, CA; eleven grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; other relatives and friends. A memorial fund has been established. Interment in the Waubonsie Cemetery.
