Lawrence Orville "Larry" Grau

Lawrence O. "Larry" Grau, 37, of Maquoketa, Iowa, and formerly of Galena, Illinois, died on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 in Maquoketa. A celebration of Larry's life will be held at 2 P.M., Sunday, April 1, 2012, from the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 P.M. on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. Burial will be at a later date. Lawrence Orville Grau was born on August 13, 1974 in Chicago, Illinois to Lawrence John and Elizabeth (Nelson) Grau. He moved to Galena in the 3rd grade and graduated from Galena High School in 1993. He married Tara Starr on April 18, 2004 in Maquoketa, Iowa. Larry first worked in the family construction business and then as a supervisor for Key City Die Casting in Peosta for four years. He currently was a maintenance technician at Family Dollar Distribution Center in Maquoketa for the past 11 years. Larry loved his wife and his family. He enjoyed spending time with his children, reading to them, going to movies with them and attending their sporting events.
